Cold Wallet
A wallet kept offline for safekeeping.
A cold wallet stores your keys on a device that is never connected to the internet, such as a hardware wallet or a paper backup. Being offline makes it far harder for malware to reach.
Cold storage suits coins you want to hold long term. For mining you only ever give the pool your public address, never the keys, so payouts can land in a cold wallet safely.
