FPGA
A reconfigurable chip between a GPU and an ASIC.
An FPGA (field-programmable gate array) is hardware you can reprogram for a specific task, sitting between a general-purpose GPU and a fixed-function ASIC in flexibility and efficiency.
FPGAs are niche in mining: more efficient than a GPU for some algorithms, but harder to set up and less common than either GPUs or ASICs.
