Halving
A scheduled cut to a coin's block subsidy.
A halving is a sudden reduction of the block subsidy, used by coins like Bitcoin to slow new supply on a fixed schedule. At each halving the per-block subsidy drops by half.
Pearl does not halve: it uses a smooth, continuous decay instead, so the subsidy decreases with every block rather than in sudden steps.
