Inflation
The rate at which a money supply grows and prices rise.
Inflation is the loss of a currency's purchasing power as its supply grows. In crypto the word also describes a coin's issuance: the block subsidy is the coin's inflation, paid to miners for securing the chain.
Coins with a capped supply and halving schedules, like Bitcoin, have inflation that falls toward zero over time; each coin's emission curve is part of its economics.
