Malware
Malicious software; cryptojackers mine on victims' machines.
Malware is software built to harm or hijack. Crypto's common variants: cryptojackers that mine on victims' hardware, clipboard hijackers that swap wallet addresses as you paste them, and stealers that hunt for seed phrases.
Defenses are unglamorous and effective: download miners and wallets only from official sources, verify checksums, check pasted addresses end-to-end, and keep seed phrases off networked machines.
